Farmington Canyon

e
Today the four of us went for lunch and a drive up Farmington Canyon. Between Football, Meetings, School and Everything else it is really hard for the four of us to get away and spend a day hanging out.

It turned out to be a great day once I was able to relax and not be so focused on the cliff to the passenger side of the truck - we drove up as far as we could before we decided it was a good idea to turn around - there was about 6-8 inches of snow already (today was the last day that anyone would be allowed to travel the roads also).

We had a great time - for Chaze it was nice to be up in the mountains enjoying something like back home and for Micah is was all about seeing how dirty he could get his truck. As for Sam, he seemed to enjoy everything and I on the other hand was not looking forward to the trip back down the mountain (I always get car sick!)

Sadie Hawkins = Girls Ask Guys!

Okay so Wednesday Night we came home from Salt Lake City and I found the oddest package at the front door for Chaze . . . and it was open!?!? As I looked closer I figured out that we had been hit by a Utah Native with a silly but creative way of inviting Chaze to the Sadie Hawkins dance in a few weeks.

As Chaze opened the box he soon found over 100 envelopes with his name that contained blank pieces of paper . . . a few said 'Try again!" or my favorite taped to the very bottom of the box 'Don't forget to read all the mail!' Shortly after there was someone at the door to hand delivery yet another envelope. This one said 'Your the MAIL I want to take! So will you join me at SADIES?'

So at 10 o'clock that evening Chaze and I go over to visit with Sadie to set plans in motion for Chaze to say yes. About an hour later we have a plan now if only it will work out how we need it to. Chaze has called 3-7 people looking for the MC for tomorrows assembly . . . finally we found someone - be to the high school at 7am tomorrow morning!

6:40am off we go - the plan is to have the MC call Kiersten onto the stage where she will be presented by an ever soo00oo cute 4 year old dresses as a flower; thanks again Brynlie! So sweet little Brynlie walked up to Kiersten and hands her a bouqet of flowers and annouces proudly and for everyone to hear "CHAZE SAYS YES!"

I left out all the little details like texting her mom at 11 the night before, having to arrange for Chaze to be in the right assembly, hiding myself and the flowers out of sight so she didn't think something was up, and etc . . . . etc.

Later that night Sam receives an unknow text message - it's from the girl Sam in his seminary class. she tells him 'Iam not creative and couldn't think of any way silly to ask you - So do you want to go to Sadie's with me?' With such short notice . . . I run to wal Mart to purchase a package of Muffin, attach a ribbon and note that reads 'There's MUFFIN I would like to do than go to Sadies with you!'

Yep thats right BOTH boys got dates for Sadies on the same day . . .

Neighborhood Halloween Party

Can you believe October is nearly over and Thanksgiving & Christmas are just around the corner!?!?! With that being said we had a neighborhood Halloween Party this weekend - and it reminded me how much I dislike winter even more since I won't be seeing many of these people until Spring!

This year I came across a great game where your spouse (husband) answers questions and the wives had to answer the question to match their husbands answer - if they answered incorrectly they had to chew a piece of Bubble Yumm Gum . . . in the end some spouses had 3 -4-5-7 and 8 pieces of gum in their mouth. I am proud to say that I answered 14 of 18 questions correctly!

Titan Football in the Freezing Cold

So tonight Micah and I along with my parents went to watch the Varsity Football game in Layton. I just have to say that it was freezing COLD outside . . . I had my warm fuzz blanket, my big fireman blanket, a huge mug of hot chocolate and and enough clothing for two more people.

In sad news the Titans lost their second game of the season to the Layton Lancers - I know I have 'joked' that I wanted them to lose so I did not have to be subjected to the cold weather (People from California whine when it reaches 60 degrees!) The game was full of suspense and excitement; up until the 3rd quarter the score was 3-0 for the Titans!

Final score was 7 -3 for the Layton Lancers

Home Sweet Home - Welcome Home Dave

Tonight was an extra special evening with our 'neighborhood family', tonight Dave came home to join his family after another tour away . . . Everyone in the neighborhood came together to support Megan and the kiddos, as well as, their family by lining the street with American flags for his return.

In fact, attached are picture of our little man Ayden helping post one of the flags in front of his house - the little guy had not been feeling well, but nothing was going to stop him from enjoying the excitement of his daddy coming home!

Of course a few days ago Megan and Dave had received word they could possibly be relocating to Germany. As you can imagine we were saddened by the news - However we are happy to report at this time they have received news that they are remaining in our little cool de-sac" and we would not have it any other way!

We topped the night off by placing a bon-fire at the end of the cul-de-sac to help shine some light on the flags - and several of the neighbors came outside to give a round of applause to the returning family.

Welcome Home Dave - It is so nice to see your family complete!

On another note I would like to share just a quick story about Dave's journey home - Dave had hoped to be home Saturday mid-afternoon and was unable to make that flight.

So Megan and her mother in law found a flight leaving early Sunday morning via Delta Airlines
. To their surprise there was four remaining seats into SLC via first class
. . . Megan asked that these seats be made available to Dave and the follow members of his unit since there were no seats available in coach. . . can you believe that they refused to upgrade them into first class, nor ask any of the other passengers to upgrade or inquiry if anyone would be willing to help by giving up their seats for these men to return home to their families.

As you can imagine this was very fustrating and upsetting for Dave's family and in support of them I ask each of you who read this blog to think twice before booking with Delta Airlines.

Happy Anniversay - 7 years!

Micah and I celebrated 7 years of marriage this month! Yes that's right . . . 7 years!

Of course I haven't even mentioned that I have known him since I was 12 years old, therefore, I have known him for more than half of my life! Of course I would not have it any other way - We have been the best of pals for forever, we dated for a year and half off before we were married in Paso Robles, California.

Syracuse vs Weber

That's right folks . . . it was below 50 degrees and I was outside watching a football game. Here is the big disappointment . . . I barely took any pictures because I had to stuff my hands into my pockets in hopes of staying WARM! I admit it, I am a wimp . . . I was not made to live in a portion of the world where it snows!

Here are just a few shots that I got before the game . . . and some of the little kids who came along and also decided it was just too darn cold to not snuggle up in a nice warm bed. It sure was nice to have some extra people; Thanks Michelle, Hunter and Katee for joining us!

The game was GREAT - without me taking pictures I was forced to watch the game! It was intense and I was holding on to the bottom of my sit . . . Syracuse Won 9-0! Next week is BYE week and I am going to enjoy some down time and warm up for the game against Layton October 23rd.

UEA , Yardwork and Football fun!

It is sooooo odd to think that today is the first day of October . . . This morning I asked the boys to start working on clearing the garden from the backyard. In all honesty, I am rather over the fresh veggies in the yard and having to go out there to pick through the tomatoes -

I'm scared something might be living in there and bite me!!

I was downstairs working on homework in the basement with the windows open so I could see what was going on - well to my surprise I saw Sam and Chaze out there with the neighborhood boys doing yard work! How in the world can these "young" young men be so inspired to do yard work by watching Sam and Chaze!?!? Of course when I asked Sam and Chaze how they 'conned' them into having them help them - the three younger ones quickly replied "We asked to help!"

After a quick lunch thanks to Little Ceaser's the younger boys asked Sam and Chaze to play football. So I am back to work in the basement (ok well I should be working on homework) listening and watching Sam and Chaze explain the rules of football to them.

These 'young' men seem to look at Sam and Chaze like they hung the moon -
It amazing how much they all look up to Sam and Chaze!
