Home Sweet Home - Welcome Home Dave

Tonight was an extra special evening with our 'neighborhood family', tonight Dave came home to join his family after another tour away . . . Everyone in the neighborhood came together to support Megan and the kiddos, as well as, their family by lining the street with American flags for his return.

In fact, attached are picture of our little man Ayden helping post one of the flags in front of his house - the little guy had not been feeling well, but nothing was going to stop him from enjoying the excitement of his daddy coming home!

Of course a few days ago Megan and Dave had received word they could possibly be relocating to Germany. As you can imagine we were saddened by the news - However we are happy to report at this time they have received news that they are remaining in our little cool de-sac" and we would not have it any other way!

We topped the night off by placing a bon-fire at the end of the cul-de-sac to help shine some light on the flags - and several of the neighbors came outside to give a round of applause to the returning family.

Welcome Home Dave - It is so nice to see your family complete!

On another note I would like to share just a quick story about Dave's journey home - Dave had hoped to be home Saturday mid-afternoon and was unable to make that flight.

So Megan and her mother in law found a flight leaving early Sunday morning via Delta Airlines
. To their surprise there was four remaining seats into SLC via first class
. . . Megan asked that these seats be made available to Dave and the follow members of his unit since there were no seats available in coach. . . can you believe that they refused to upgrade them into first class, nor ask any of the other passengers to upgrade or inquiry if anyone would be willing to help by giving up their seats for these men to return home to their families.

As you can imagine this was very fustrating and upsetting for Dave's family and in support of them I ask each of you who read this blog to think twice before booking with Delta Airlines.

Happy Anniversay - 7 years!

Micah and I celebrated 7 years of marriage this month! Yes that's right . . . 7 years!

Of course I haven't even mentioned that I have known him since I was 12 years old, therefore, I have known him for more than half of my life! Of course I would not have it any other way - We have been the best of pals for forever, we dated for a year and half off before we were married in Paso Robles, California.

Syracuse vs Weber

That's right folks . . . it was below 50 degrees and I was outside watching a football game. Here is the big disappointment . . . I barely took any pictures because I had to stuff my hands into my pockets in hopes of staying WARM! I admit it, I am a wimp . . . I was not made to live in a portion of the world where it snows!

Here are just a few shots that I got before the game . . . and some of the little kids who came along and also decided it was just too darn cold to not snuggle up in a nice warm bed. It sure was nice to have some extra people; Thanks Michelle, Hunter and Katee for joining us!

The game was GREAT - without me taking pictures I was forced to watch the game! It was intense and I was holding on to the bottom of my sit . . . Syracuse Won 9-0! Next week is BYE week and I am going to enjoy some down time and warm up for the game against Layton October 23rd.

Thank you Kandi you did a great job - We LOVE them!!
First, here are a few updated pictures of Micah and I, as well as, Chaze and Sam.

UEA , Yardwork and Football fun!

It is sooooo odd to think that today is the first day of October . . . This morning I asked the boys to start working on clearing the garden from the backyard. In all honesty, I am rather over the fresh veggies in the yard and having to go out there to pick through the tomatoes -

I'm scared something might be living in there and bite me!!

I was downstairs working on homework in the basement with the windows open so I could see what was going on - well to my surprise I saw Sam and Chaze out there with the neighborhood boys doing yard work! How in the world can these "young" young men be so inspired to do yard work by watching Sam and Chaze!?!? Of course when I asked Sam and Chaze how they 'conned' them into having them help them - the three younger ones quickly replied "We asked to help!"

After a quick lunch thanks to Little Ceaser's the younger boys asked Sam and Chaze to play football. So I am back to work in the basement (ok well I should be working on homework) listening and watching Sam and Chaze explain the rules of football to them.

These 'young' men seem to look at Sam and Chaze like they hung the moon -
It amazing how much they all look up to Sam and Chaze!

SHS vs. Clearfield

No pictures!! Since it is UEA this Thursday and Friday it made for a short week at school and the JV and varsity games were moved to Tuesday and Wednesday.

After a quick trip to SLC we headed back home to watch the football game; this time the boys were able to sit with us!

Please make a special note that I did try to talk the boys into going straight home and calling it a night; did I mention it was snowing when we drove into Layton!?!? So yea I was not thrilled to seat outside for the next two hours to watch the football game.

Once again - for the sake of the boys I 'cowboy'd up' and I tell Chaze and went to the game in my jeans and sweatshirt! Lucky for us, some friends from school had saved us some seats that were dry . . . . I just tucked myself in between Chaze, and Micah and Sam sat in front of me to block the wind!!

Syracuse did AMAZING in the words of Sam and Chaze
54 - 7

Young Mens Activity - BYU vs. Colorado State

Micah and Sam just got home from the BYU vs. Colorado State!

Sounds like they have a great time, they have not stopped sharing all the stories since they got home. Needless to say, I think they should have an adult with them at all times.

Homecoming - SHS vs Roy

What a great night we just had!!!

I know I complain about how I am so ready for football to be over, but after last night I am looking forward to the games to come!

It was our Homecoming game against the Royal's of Roy, Utah.

Wednesday evening Micah, the boys, Sadie and I went to save seats for the game Friday night - can you believe that?!?!? And once we arrived all the good seats were already taken. This game was extra special; Chaze's parents, and two of his three sisters along with Aunts, Uncles and cousin came to support the Titans.

It was obvious from the start of the game that the Titans were the winning team - end of the first quarter 16 -0! The BEST PLAY of the evening was the last two minutes when our very own Chaze entered the game. Luckily enough for me I was able to grab the camera and get a few blurry pictures to capture the moment; Chaze made the final interception for the game and before anyone was able to determine what had just happened over the loud speaker was " #31 Chaze for the Titans!!"

As you can see from the pictures we had a great night and I am so thankful for the good friends who came to support the boys (each week) and the new friends we are making since Chaze and Sam have become apart of our life.

Missionary Visit

Missionaries came over for a dinner appointment, they were two hours late! I gave them a hard time and told them they had to eat a jalapeno from our garden to make it up to us . . . I was ONLY joking, but they were good sports about it. Needless to say, it was a little much.

Syracuse Storms Football Game

Went to watch Kaysn play football this afternoon; I have to say that I enjoy little league football, however, I wonder at what age little boys decide to chase the ball that extra three seconds.

Sam, Chaze and I had a great time - thanks for inviting us Kaysn.

Syracuse Titans vs. Fremont

What a freakin' awesome game tonight! Micah and I hadn't planned on going, but decided that we should to at least support the boys . . . we showed up late, but thanks to some friends of the boys we had amazing seats.

The team had the best team support and spirit that we have ever seen - it was awesome!

Syracuse Cowgirl Style

I just wanted to share this funny image from the game the other night; I am a city girl and all, but I have never seen anyone 'tuck' their pants into cowgirl boats! And if I had not already meet these super fun gals I would of probably made fun of them. Thanks Crystal, Kenna and Kenzie for saving us some seats at the game tonight!

Take note the extra picture; # 31 and # 68 are my very own Chaze and Sam - The girls came to the game tonight; not only were they supporting school colors they also decorated their car.

Chaze Spoke in Sacrament Meeting Today

The Bishop asked Chaze to speak this week and gave him the topic of 'choices' - Micah and I were both so excited to hear what he had to say!

More so, we were excited that Chaze's dad Wayne was able to come and hear Chaze speak and join us for dinner that evening.

I would like to say that I was able to hear every single word, but the truth is our ward is full of very active children who have a great deal to say . . . Everything I did hear was AWESOME and Chaze did a great job!!

Just a quick shout out to Brittany who is graduating in 2010 -
Her mom Nancy took these amazing Senior Pictures and she looks beautiful!

Spent a Saturday afternoon Swimming with Friends

We spent Saturday afternoon with some great friends (Nick, Kandi and Zoey) and met new friends Jeff and Kim at Cherry Hill to spend the last days of summer swimming . . .

We had a great time and Sam & Chaze has a great time hanging out with Nick and Jeff; who were also like 17 year old boys!

The boys were great sports about it; they had a game the night before, then walked for the March of the Titans to support Primary Children Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. With only three hours of sleep the boys had enough energy to enjoy themselves.

Thanks Nick and Kandi for a great Saturday afternoon! Looking forward to having you take some photos for our blog.

Syracuse High School vs. Davis High School

What a great game, but it was a terrible disappointment fr Syracuse Fans! The Titans were doing so well up until the 3rd Quarter and from there is went down hill. Best luck next time Titans!!

Welcome to My Happy Place!

So I know it was a three day weekend - an extra day of rest and relaxation, but in all honesty I need one place where I can go in order to get the thing done that I need to get done . . . Things like pay bills, do homework, keep important papers, and most of all just enjoy some down time.

Micah, Sam and Chaze did a great job of making me a 'make shift' office space in the basement and thanks to my way cool neighbor (the one who thinks he is going to move) Jared I have this amazing desk to work at. Thanks Jared I LOVE IT! And no Melissa can't have it back if she moves into a bigger house. :P

Sam is Ordained as a Priest

Today Sam was ordained as a Priest; and had the opportunity to pass the Sacrament today at church.

Last night I went to get him a new white shirt and tie . . . Something about being able to go out and get Sam all handsome and prepared for his place in life was exciting!

Micah and I really enjoy watching Sam grow into the church again and start to think about serving a mission and how the church influences his life.

In fact, he also is attending an early morning Seminary class to make up for the credits he missed last year!

In a few weeks Sam will be prepared to bless the Sacrament.

Super Saturday and Swiss Days

As you can see Saturday was a full day of activities; my folks were here visiting from California and we decided it would be a good idea to go see what was so cool about Swiss Days, let me tell you what is so cool! Nothing - Nuffin -Nada - Never gonna go again!! There is about an acre of booths and a million people.

On the bright side, Chaze did get to see his sister, brother in law, his handsome nephew and his new niece!

We then went to Lehi to visit Cabelas - I saw the most amazing thing! Chaze took shot after shot and HIT EVERY TARGET at the way fun game they have there! I had fun feeding the fish.

Syracuse High School JV vs. View Mount

I was so upset, I thought I deleted the pictures from the JV game Thursday night, but after I took some time to relax and work on a few other projects I was thrilled to find my secret hiding spot! I was not going to be a happy blogger if I never found those pictures.

It was a good game - until it went into overtime and View Mount scored another touch down.
15 - 21

Syracuse Storms Practice

After the Syracuse High school JV game, Micah and I ran over to watch Kayson's practice. Every Thursday night the Titan Mom's have a tailgate dinner for the JV and Varsity football players and then an hour and a half walk through for the Varsity game Friday nights.

So Micah and I ran to get something to eat and drink and went to visit with Sadie and the girls during Kayson's practice.

Football = Pain!

Chaze would die - maybe even be tempted to cause serious harm to me if he saw me posting this picture from physical therapy, but I know one day he will look back at this and laugh!!

Gosh I hope so!!
